Worship Leader Endorsements of Psalm-Hymns

Books 1, 2 & 3  by L. L. Larkins  Volume 1

Use these Psalm-Hymn lyrics for prayer and reflection, memorization, modern theater, dramatic reading, liturgy and ceremonies.  "Absolutely, this is the next retreat book.  I love it. I've already bought the printed and Kindle version."  Susan Muldrow, Worship Leader, Kansas

"We are doing a Christmas Jam party this year, and using several of these caroling lyrics.  When I opened up my book, I got out my guitar and just started going through the psalms. It was so much fun, and surprisingly, I could play them from ear. I was swept up by it all and started to just jam out.  Churches need this stuff.  Our church wants to start doing Psalm-Hymns for a new Saturday evening service, kind of an 'evensong' idea before the message, more contemplative."  G.H.

This reference guide represents modern psalmody. It contains 89 singable psalms at your fingertips. Anchored-in-faith lyrics, with dramatic poetry, represent the first three biblical books of Davidic Psalms. Larkins submits the Psalms are prescribed and authorized for worship throughout God's kingdom, and without them, our worship is censored, uninformed and incomplete. "Psalms," in the Hebrew means "Praises." Let the message about the Messiah dwell richly among you, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, and singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, with gratitude in your hearts to God. Colossians 3:16 (HCSB)

"I was so excited to get my copy in the mail that I started reading it last night in bed, I love the hymns and so I just kept singing these until I woke up in the morning and saw that I was still cuddling the book."  Shirley Hockett, Pianist, Montana

"Ancient prayers record the Lord's acts of lovingkindness and His odd silences, helping us now to recite and praise with songs and instruments to the God of our Faith. Sing these psalms a'capella or jazz them up, the content remains true to scripture and full of the Holy Spirit's power." -- John Chism, Choral and Worship Director, Tennessee

Teaching and admonishment means there should be a place in our worship centers for historical education of the Psalms. Here, the first three books of Davidic Psalms are set to great hymns of Faith. They expressly describe the wonders of God during terrifying events, illness and betrayal, and God's splendor in nature. They describe human relationships with God during life's miracles through the worshiper's gratitude and hope.

"What an amazing resource and tool for worship!" says Mike Flack, Owner/Operator of LaunchPad Studios. "This book can be used personally or corporately as a new collection of songs for worship, a small group study, or even a modern day hymnal."

Larkins' hope is, by reciting or singing these Psalms, communities of faith are transformed by a new awareness of God's over-arching presence, intimate help and glorifying purposes in present situations.
